Weaving of Mekhla, Patani and Dokma is famous and an age old crafting of Kamta – Cooch Behar. One of Cooch Behar’s subdivision namely “Mekhliganj” was famous for its handloom product “Mekhla”. From “Mekhla”, subdivision’s name became Mekhliganj. The craftsmen weave the cotton to thread which is woven to Tant Mekhla, Patani or Dokma.
